Between the Moment: Artist Portfolio & Proposal
My final presentation explores the intersection of sports, performance, and identity through a series of double exposure images. As a photographer with a background in sports, I’ve always been drawn to high-energy moments but this project shifts focus toward what exists beneath them.
Between the Moment is a conceptual series that combines action shots with candid, introspective portraits to visualize the duality experienced by athletes and public figures. These layered images exist in a space between movement and stillness, where identity becomes fragmented and fluid.
The work is grounded in themes of performance culture, visibility, and self-perception, especially in a media-driven world where individuals are constantly observed. By merging two contrasting moments into one frame, the images challenge viewers to look beyond surface-level performance and consider the internal experiences that often go unseen.
This project represents a shift in my practice from documenting moments to constructing meaning and serves as a foundation for my future work in conceptual sports and portrait photography.
