Artist Statement.
I work primarily in digital photography and videography, focusing on sports imagery, live-action moments, and community-centered storytelling. My work captures athletes, events, and environments in a way that highlights both intensity and emotion. Visually, I would describe my style as cinematic and high-contrast, using dynamic compositions, sharp detail, and controlled lighting to turn fast-paced moments into powerful still images. I am influenced by sports media, street culture, and commercial branding, as well as documentary photography that focuses on real people and real environments. Thematically, my work centers on movement, identity, and community showing not just what is happening, but what it feels like to be present in those moments. I create this work because of my deep connection to sports and the culture around it. Having been around athletics my entire life, I understand the emotions behind every play the pressure, the excitement, and the sense of unity. A major influence on my work is my mentor, who was also a photographer. He was someone who genuinely cared about people and used his photography to uplift others. He helped families, supported students, and showed through his work that community is a powerful and beautiful thing. Seeing how much people respected and loved him inspired me to approach photography the same way. My work is driven by the idea that moments in sports and community deserve to be seen, valued, and remembered. I also aim to solve the lack of meaningful visual representation for many athletes and communities by giving them imagery that feels intentional and impactful. My process combines preparation with instinct. I study the flow of the game, anticipate key moments, and position myself to capture peak action, while staying ready for unexpected moments that often carry the most emotion. I communicate my ideas visually through composition, timing, and post-production using color grading and contrast to enhance mood and storytelling. My goal is to create images that feel immersive, as if the viewer is inside the moment rather than just observing it. I want my audience to feel the energy, tension, and connection within each frame. Ultimately, my work is meant to do more than document it elevates everyday moments and reflects the same sense of community and impact that inspired me to start.
