For me the material i use is a DSLR camera and a film camera. I also use a RC paper or Fiber paper to print my image but I mostly do digital. the thing that inspired me is how texture and shapes and I love how they both go hand to hand so well but also I was inspired by the meaning and story of what my image capture. Sky Hopinka material he use scattered and reassembled landscapes with layers of audio, poetic text and music. the this that inspired Hopinka in his work was his homeland, the landscape and the memory. I like how Hopinka tell a story of memory by the places he visited and how he was about to use all this material into one this. in the video Hopinka quoted that "soaking on the soaking mountain in the brush sit serpents, of the land and the water, waiting and protected-protecting, and decrying a humid world." I think that quote means by finding your way to feel free and staying true to yourself but remembering where you from and where you go but also how you can go back to where you started. I think what he do is wonderful because sometime it's hard for people to show and tell people where they come from and to understand your culture and the story you tell. not only that, in his work you can see all the things he saying without saying it by only using things he see with his own eyes. Having doing that, it shows the most simple place can also hold meaning or a history in those story, even in all the good and the bad one's as well.
