*Choose 2 quotes from the interview and write a short response for each quote. Then answer the two questions below.
The first quote that I thought was interesting was when she said "I use color as an invite and then leave the decision to the viewer if they will actually stay and be with the content or if they’ll avoid interacting". Here she is talking about her work which is a video installation in a blue hued room which is from her show "there are other hues of blue" at the Marlborough gallery. As the artist, I like how she is giving us the audience member to stay and watch the installation and truly be immersed in her artwork which is pretty amazing because I would feel like i would be one with her work of art.
Furthermore, the second quote that I liked was when she said in the interview " I wanted the silhouette to embody movement and spirit rather than a tangible body". Here she was asked by the interviewer how she felt fascinated by LeSeur's use of silhouettes in the Marlborough gallery. To me LeSeur definitely sees certain things the way another person wouldn't and thats what makes her stand out and unique for me. For example most people would see a silhouette as a regular body but LeSeur sees it quite differently by wanting the silhouette in her artwork to be an embody movement and spirit. This is what I admire of her by not closing herself in and going the safe route but rather taking above and beyond with her imagination and isnt afraid to show her self expression.
