Artist Statement official- Sara Kolenovic

Artist Bio:

Sara is a student who began drawing realistic art in elementary school in New Jersey. Sara started joining art clubs and attempted to join the art program but was not invited by her teachers to do so. At that point she did not feel discouraged and decided to use it as fuel to work on her art in her own time. She has dreamed of becoming a professional Graphic Designer where she gets to create logos, posters, and designs that incorporate real world issues. Sara tackles realistic art, graphic design, and paint, but she mostly does Graphic Design.

Artist Statement:

My work as an artist tackles real world issues regarding to war, genocides, and presidency. Each design, color, and geometric shape has its own intentional purpose for being present within the piece I am conveying to you all. I also add opacity, shade, and lines into my piece, and that creates a lasting impact on the viewer based on interest. I aim to present complex and difficult subjects to encourage others to reflect more upon our current situation in this world. I explore different themes and art styles based on artist influence, and I am hoping that I can use my inspirations to truly cause a difference in humanity perspective.

By creating a difference in humanity perspective, I mean the way we look at situations with our own eyes. We as human beings are very complex and sometimes, we gain emotions that are too complex to understand as we handle it either great or not so great... As a result, we may judge, assume, or perceive things that we do not have the full story off. This is why I create art regarding to war, genocides, and presidency as we all do these things. I assure I am not biased within my art and make sure that it is hundred percent as accurate as my art may advocate to those who need our hands and voice. That way, we all get to see the truth without blinding our minds of what the possibilities may be.

  1. Wow Sara, this is a great bio and statement! I love that you create a voice for those who can’t do it alone, it helps bring awareness and wake up the public from content that’s most likely hidden from them.
